Maximum file size: 10MB
Sometimes the only version of a presentation you have is the PDF export — the original PowerPoint file is lost, the colleague who made it left the company, or the slides came from an external partner who only sent the PDF. Dokfo's free PDF-to-PowerPoint converter rebuilds those PDFs as editable PPTX files, so you can update text, swap images, change colors, or restyle the design without rebuilding the deck from scratch. Each page of your PDF becomes a slide in the resulting PowerPoint. Text blocks become editable text, images become movable image objects, and layout positioning is preserved. Open the converted file in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote, LibreOffice Impress, or WPS Presentation — they all read the standard PPTX format. Conversion fidelity is highest for PDFs that were originally exported from a presentation tool (clean text, defined layouts). Image-heavy or scanned PDFs convert as image-based slides — you'll get visually identical slides, but text-level editing requires running OCR first.
How to Convert PDF to PowerPoint — Step by Step
1
Upload your PDF by clicking the upload area or dragging the file. Dokfo prepares it for conversion.
2
Click "Convert". Each PDF page is parsed for text, images, and layout, then rebuilt as an editable PowerPoint slide in PPTX format.
3
Download the converted PPTX file. Open it in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, or LibreOffice Impress — every element is now editable.
Why Convert PDF to PowerPoint With Dokfo?
Each Page Becomes an Editable Slide
Text becomes editable text frames, images become movable image objects, and layout is preserved. Open the result in PowerPoint and edit like you built it from scratch.
Universal PPTX Output
The output is a standard Open XML PPTX file. Compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote, LibreOffice Impress, and WPS Presentation.
Privacy-First Conversion
Files are processed via a TLS-encrypted pipeline and permanently deleted from our servers within minutes — no logs, no copies, no third-party sharing.
No Watermarks
Converted slides come out clean — no watermark, no "converted by" footer, no branding. Just your original content as an editable presentation.
When to Convert PDF to PowerPoint
- Recover an editable presentation when the original PPTX file is lost and only the PDF export remains.
- Update a partner-supplied PDF deck — change branding, swap logos, edit text — without rebuilding it from scratch.
- Translate a PDF presentation by converting to PPTX so translation tools and translators can edit the text directly.
- Reuse slides from a research paper, report, or whitepaper as the basis for a new internal presentation.
- Adapt a printed brochure or flyer (saved as PDF) into a presentation deck for a webinar or internal training.
Conversion Is Secure and Private
PDF-to-PowerPoint conversion requires server-side processing for the highest-fidelity layout reconstruction. Dokfo uses a private TLS-encrypted pipeline: your PDF is uploaded over HTTPS, processed in an isolated worker, and the resulting PPTX is returned to your browser. Both the input PDF and the output PPTX are permanently deleted from our servers within minutes. We retain no copies, no logs of file content, and no training data. For ultra-confidential decks, redact sensitive content first using Dokfo's Redact PDF tool.

Frequently Asked Questions About PDF to PowerPoint
How do I convert a PDF to PowerPoint?
Upload your PDF, click "Convert", and download the PPTX file. Each PDF page becomes a slide. Open the result in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, or any other PPTX-compatible editor.
Can I edit the slides after conversion?
Yes. The output is a standard PPTX file with editable text, movable images, and preserved layout. You can change wording, swap images, restyle colors, and rearrange elements just like a slide deck you built yourself.
How accurate is the layout reconstruction?
For PDFs originally exported from PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides, layout is preserved very accurately. For PDFs from design tools (InDesign, Illustrator) or scanned PDFs, the result may use image-based slides — visually identical, but with limited text editing.
Will fonts be preserved?
Standard fonts (Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman, etc.) carry over directly. Custom or embedded fonts are mapped to the closest available equivalent on the system that opens the PPTX. Embed your fonts before exporting to PDF for the best fidelity.
Does it work for scanned PDFs?
Scanned PDFs convert as image-based slides — the visual content is preserved but text is not editable. Run OCR PDF first to add a searchable text layer, then convert for editable text slides.
Are my files kept on your servers?
No. Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in an isolated worker, and permanently deleted within minutes. We never log file content or use uploaded data for any other purpose.
Is there a file-size limit?
Free users can convert PDFs up to 50 MB. Paid plans support up to 200 MB. For larger files, split them first using Dokfo's Split PDF tool.
Will the converted PPTX have a watermark?
Never. Dokfo never adds watermarks to converted output — free tier included.
